Establish Yourself on the Internet - Create Your Site

at Ragabe's

If you want to create your own banners I suggest you try PaintShopPro. I'm not giving you a link as you can buy it anywhere you do your online shopping, or offline for that matter. I like online shopping as I get to buy without tax. Try their evaluation copy.

If you'd like to see some banners already created and which you just need to fill in your text, go to:

Your finished banners can be posted on Link Exchange. They keep track of the visitors you have to your site. They also offer you their standard banner which you can use.

6th and last step
tell everyone your new address.
  • Submit+ will add your site to over 100 free search engines.
Try a free submission to top 10 search engines.
    URL : Email:

  • AddMe. This site will list you with multiple search engines with one submission form.

  • Virtual Promote. This is a listing of over 1000 search engines which takes a period of time. It's worth the time and effort, and it's really part of doing business on the Internet

That's it! These are the basic steps you will need to take before you start to go off running. Incidentally, here are several programs which I have been using.

  • Link Alarm -- Register your site to ensure you will have no missing or broken links. We all know what's happening to .com companies on the web today. A company you have been dealing with for over a year all of a sudden no longer exists, and no one will tell you, not the company, or the web. You will get word of it through an e-mail from a frustrated visitor to your site. Don't let this happen to you.

You can get the following at www.zd.com. This site is virus free and has many programs for you to sample.

  • CSE Validator -- This small simple program tests your HTML coding offline and is a real time saver.
  • Gator -- It remembers all the passwords and IDs you use while on the net. If you have many of these, you know how difficult it is to remember them all.
  • TextPad -- This is an extended version of wordPad. It has a spell checker, and has the option of numbering the lines so you can check your HTML coding.
Have fun with your new endeavor, and let me know when your site is open so I can drop in and visit.

If you want additional tips, e-mail me. I'll add you to my mailing list.
